Fixed Vs Wireless usage

This page will be updated periodically with graphs using statistics from the ABS, comparing internet usage in Australia by volume.

Beginning June 2016, statistics are divided amongst three types of service:

  • Fixed line: Includes ADSL, Fibre optic/FTTP/FTTC/FTTN (e.g. private and NBN), and Cable.
  • Wireless: Mobile wireless (e.g. USB dongles/modems); fixed wireless (e.g. rural NBN services), and Satellite (e.g. NBN satellite).
  • Mobile handset: Data consumed via your mobile phone.
